Disclaimer and a word on integrity: All products I talk about here on L’Amour et la Musique are purchased with my own money, unless I explicitly mention that it was gifted from a brand. I will ALWAYS be fully transparent about any products given to me for review, that I did not seek out or purchase of my own accord. It is one of the biggest issues I have with YouTube – that many bloggers and YouTubers have just become a means to market products. That’s not why I do this. All opinions expressed are entirely my own, and I strongly value honesty and integrity in real life and here on YouTube.

If you had just $100 to create a skincare routine from scratch, what products would you include?

  2. ~Anna~

My question is: What one brand of skincare would you have if you could only have one?

  3. chian97

Are there any non luxury skincare brands or makeup brands that you use? I love your recommendations but it can be very expensive to buy all the luxury brands that I would love to try.

How are you liking Chicago as far as shopping? Skincare/makeup ,gemstones, food, ect.

What are your favorite types of products (cleansers, toners, or serums…) and which do you think are most important in a skincare routine?

No questions as I have my own bottle of EV (hahaha!) but must say that I love how you’re just claiming your fall look now! Fall is too short to wait for the leaves to change, I’m with you on that. Loving that dark lip on you, so vampy!

Hi Mercedes! In previous videos you have mentioned that topical skincare can only do so much, and that internal health and wellness will have the biggest impact on your skin. What do you do internally when your skin is out of balance? (e.g. eat certain foods, drink more water, supplements, etc)

What’s your most repurchase skincare product? Thanks!

What is your travel/in-flight skincare routine? What are your essentials for travel (non skincare also)? Thanks for all the thoughtful content you bring out!

I, too, am curious about brands you don’t buy from and why. But also, what are your top few brands? Do you think there is any benefit to using a skincare regimen from just one brand? I feel an internal pull to find a “brand” that will encompass my whole routine, but the reality is that I love trying new things, so that may never happen. 🙂

I read the articles you linked, too. Very interesting. Although I take a bit of issue with the Toxic Wellness Industry article. I was driven to look for alternative remedies when over a decade of dermatology visits failed to clear my skin of acne. And again when my digestive issues were completely dismissed by an MD. It’s not necessarily that Western medicine is eschewed (although certainly some people do, sometimes to their own detriment), just that it doesn’t have all the answers. I love science, but not everything has been studied (especially when it comes to women’s health).

Hi Mercedes. Loved this video. Not a summer person either, so I support your early entry into fall makeup. Adore Pai cleansing cream, which was a revelation when I first used it. The Stark line has impressed me beyond all anticipatory imaginings. Last night I used Eclipse, which I left on as a mask for ten minutes, rinsed off, sprayed on Petrichor, applied a mix of Everlasting and Midnight over my face with a bit of extra Everlasting around my eyes. I woke today with soft, plump skin. I’m in love. Jess is smart, charming, funny, and knows her skincare. I love her YouTube channel, and hope more people discover her. In my next order, I’ll get Aurora for winter cleansing, and as a moisturizer mixed with Everlasting. Regarding $90 eye creams? There are excellent products for lower prices; I’m gravitating toward those in streamlined routines. The Kosas lipstick colors don’t work for my skin undertones, they shift on me after application. I was going to try Inika BB Cream, concealer, and mascara, but I’m intrigued by Sappho. Read the articles you mentioned, love the Boris Karloff Peter and the Wolf, and enjoy the GBBS. My questions: How do you choose a facialist, decide what to have done, and maintain a routine? AND/OR What is your favorite oil cleanser?

how did you originally get into eco beauty? & what are your thoughts on the monetization of the ‘skin care as self care’ trend (as brought on by glossier, into the gloss, instagram, etc). ie. how much is too much… when does it become superficial… how do you enjoy skincare and beauty without helping the capitalist wheel spin on…
