In this video, Dr. Berg talks about what “They” don’t tell women about wearing makeup. The skin is a human sponge that directly absorbs everything you put on it. An average female absorbs 4 pounds and 6 ounces of chemicals every single year or put 515 synthetic chemicals on the skin every day. Some of these chemicals are carcinogens which are the things that can cause cancer. He also talks about how to get the chemicals out of the body by detoxification.

Chemicals on Makeup:
• Carcinogen – Things that could cause cancer
• Neurotoxins – It goes into the brain and the nervous system
• Endocrine Disruptors – Chemicals in the environment that mimics estrogen that affects the different endocrine glands (thyroid, pancreas, adrenal gland, ovary)

Ways to Get Chemicals Out of the Body:
• Evaluate what your body is being exposed too – Replace them with more natural and less toxic.
• Detox using cruciferous vegetables to help the liver breakdown these poisons – These are very unique vegetables that help to naturally detoxify without the detoxification effect.
• Do intermittent fasting – It is physiological vacation from constantly eating all the time and gives the organ time to rest, heal and repair. It also triggers autophagy, where the body is recycling all the things that it doesn’t need and gives new tissue.
• Make sure to eat enough healthy fat – Fish (Wild caught salmon), Coconut oil, seafood, nuts, seeds, olive oil, avocado

Cruciferous Vegetables:
• Kale
• Broccoli
• Cabbage
• Brussels sprouts
• Bok choy
• Arugula
• Collard Greens
• Radish
• Watercress

Today we are gonna talk about what they don’t tell women about wearing make up. The first thing that you need to know is that the skin is a human sponge, it is like a little sponge and it absorbs things so everything you put in your skin goes directly right in. Think about the last time you use hand lotion , you put all this lotions in your hand and then it disappears where did it go? It went right inside. An average female will absorb 4lbs and 6ounces of chemicals every single year. So here’s an example of 4pounds. Of course probably has a lot more sugar than that per year but this is 4 pounds right.. This is how much chemical go into your body through the skin every year, that’s a lot. And there is about 515 different chemicals put in your skin every single day. From hairspray, blush, foundation, shampoo, conditioners, deodorant, aluminum for example, body lotions, hand cream, eye shadow, lipstick, nail polish, nail polish remover which is very very toxic, perfumes, fake tans, all sorts of things that you are exposed to on a daily basis. Here’s the problem, some of these chemicals are carcinogens those are things that can cause cancer. The problem is there is always a delay between cause and effect. You start accumulating these chemicals, you don’t know when potentially you can have a problem down the road so it is very hard to connect the dots. Some of these chemicals are neurotoxins.

BUUUUT the thing is, I feel like I have to wear makeup because I have very dark brown acne scars and hyperpigmentation. It’s very hard to fade and get even skin tone, and especially tricky to find products that cater to the my dark skin. Dr Berg how do I even out my skin tone and fade dark scars? I want my glowing brown skn back!

*First of all, makeup is not just for women*
